January 14: South Africa's Jbe Kruger, a one-time Asian Tour winner, remained firmly in the hunt for the BMW SA Open hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni after he returned with a second round five-under-par 67 to take a share of second place on Friday.
Kruger matched his opening 67 with another similar effort where he traded four birdies, one eagle and a double-bogey for a two-day total of 10-under-par 134 at the European Tour event.
Together with compatiot Trevor Fisher Jnr and American Peter Uihlein, they trial England's Graeme Storm by two shots, heading into the weekend rounds.
Over in the US, Philppines Miguel Tabuena showed lots of promise by carding a 65 to progress into the weekend at the Sony Open in Hawaii which will also feature honorary member Y.E. Yang of Korea.
India's Anirban Lahiri made his early exit after rounds of 70 and 72.
Ends.
