January 24: India’s Anirban Lahiri, the reigning Asian Tour Order of Merit champion, carded a one-under-par 71 to slip to a share of 19th place after the third round of the Career Builders Challenge on Saturday.
The Indian, also a seven-time Asian Tour winner, had earlier grabbed a share of the first round lead with a 64.
However, he could not produce his opening heroics as he marked his card with one bogey, a double-bogey and four birdies to trail Anerican Jason Dufner by 10 shots after compiling a three-day total of 13-under-par 203 at the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.

Lahiri earned his card in American through the Web.Com Finals last season, which also saw him winning twice on the Asian Tour, breaking into the world’s top-50 and making his debut in the Presidents Cup. He featured in Team Asia’s defeat to Europe in the EurAsia Cup last week, winning his singles match against Shane Lowry but losing two other matches.
Fellow Merit winner, Seungyul Noh meanwhile made his move to snatch a share of 13th place after a 65.
The 2010 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner fired eight birdies and had his card spoilt by a lone bogey on the par-four eight.
At the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee took the clubhouse lead with a sparkling 67 after the third round was forced with another lengthy delay due to fog again.
Fellow EurAsia Cup team mate Byeonghun An signed for a 68 while China’s Wu Ashun returned with a 69.
Ends.
