"Lahiri, Karlberg and Dodt earn ET cards"

November 21: India's Anirban Lahiri survived the gruelling marathon test by posting an even-par 72 in the sixth and final round to earn his European Tour card at the Qualifying School Final Stage on Thursday.
After cruising in the opening three rounds which saw him feature on the leaderboard, Lahiri, who is currently second on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, struggled somewhat over the last three rounds and survived some anxious moments before pulling through to earn his playing rights in Europe by finishing tied 16th.
"Nice to finally finish the week positively. Q School done, time to get it going," wrote the 27-year-old Lahiri in his twitter post.
Two-time Asian Tour winner Rikard Karlberg of Sweden also joined Lahiri along with the graduating class when he signed off with a 71 for ninth place.
Australia's Andrew Dodt, who won his sole Asian Tour title at the Avantha Masters in India in 2010, also sealed his card with a closing 67 for a share of 10th place.
“There’s a whole lot of relief right now. It’s a long week and you just have to try and piece it together carefully and I had a pretty good plan all week," said the Aussie.
“I was chipping away at it and you’re going to make some mistakes, you’re going to make some birdies. I hung in there well, made the putts ad made the birdies when I had to.
“I feel like I turned a corner this year. I was back on the Asian Tour for a year and then I found my game again, found myself again and I feel pretty good about things.
“It’s nice to be able to plan my year ahead now, it’s a good position to be in. I played well last year and I needed two under or so in the final round, so I was kind of in the same spot. I felt better equipped and better within myself to do the job this year, 12 months later. I’m pretty happy right now.”
It was heartbreak for American Jason Knutzon who carded a 69 to miss the grade by five shots.
The top 25 and ties earned their Tour card for the 2015 European Tour season.
