June 8: China’s Liang Wen-chong cruised to a five-shot victory when he closed with a one-under-par 70 to win the  JGT Championship Mori Building Cup in Japan on Sunday.
The 2007 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion had led since the opening day of the Japan Golf Tour event and was always in control as he signed off with a winning total of 14-under-par 270 at the  Shishido Hills.
The Chinese opened with rounds of 67 and 68 for a single shot lead in the first two rounds. A third round 65 extended his advantage to five atop the leaderboard where he would continue to hold firmly onto until the final round.
Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng, an eight-time Asian Tour winner, meanwhile posted a final round 74 to finish tied for 27th while Philippines Angelo Que settled for a share of 32nd place on 288 total.
Over in Sweden, Australia’s Scott Hend signed off with a 73 to finish tied-33rd at the Nordea Masters. Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg posted a 72 to share tied-43rd place.
