Lipsky finishes tied-fifth in Shenzhen

April 24: Korean-American David Lipsky claimed a tied-fifth finish after closing with a three-under-par 69 at the Shenzhen International on Sunday.
The 28-year-old, winner of the Asian Tour Order of Merit in 2014, sank five birdies against two bogeys to finish on 14-under-par 274 total, two shots off the duo of Tommy Fleetwood and Bernd Wiesberger, who eventually prevailed in the play-off.
Thai star Thongchai Jaide marked his best score of the week with a 66, grabbing a share of eighth place on 275 at the Genzon Golf Club.
China’s Liu Yan-wei, a regular player on the Asian Development Tour (ADT), put up an impressive performance in what was his third appearance at the Shenzhen International. He emerged as the highest-placed Chinese in tied-11th position on 276 after a closing 70.
Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat came in tied-21st on 278 while Australia’s Sam Brazel took a share of 51st on 285 following a 71.
At the Valero Texas Open, India’s Anirban Lahiri closed with a 76 to settle for tied-72nd place at the PGA TOUR event.
