Long drive pro Sadlowski heads to Indonesia

Jakarta, August 15: Big hitting Canadian Jamie Sadlowski will make his debut at the BNI Indonesian Masters presented by Zurich, as he begins his quest to play full time as a professional golfer.
Sadlowski, who recently retired from Professional Long Drive competitions, will begin his global tournament schedule at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club when the Asian Tour event gets underway from 6-9 October.
The 28-year-old has been the face of the sport of Long Drive for more than a decade, making a record 10 consecutive world finals. He has two world Junior Titles (2005-2006) and two Open Titles to his credit (2008 & 2009).  Sadlowksi’s inclusion in the tournament – alongside some of the best golfers in the world – is sure to be a crowd pleaser, giving spectators the chance to witness his epic drives first hand in the Indonesian capital.
Sadlowski, who routinely drives a golf ball 400 yards, proved earlier this year that his capabilities extend way beyond jaw-dropping powerful drives, when he won a US Open local qualifier in Scottsdale, Arizona, after shooting a round of 65. He has also made 3 out of 4 cuts on the web.com Tour.  The former junior hockey player believes the BNI Indonesian Masters presented by Zurich will offer him the best competition in Asia to test his game. He said:
“I am very excited to be playing at the BNI Indonesian Masters presented by Zurich for the first time. It is not an easy tournament to win, and if you look at the roll of honour, it takes a world class golfer to top that leader-board on Sunday. I play a very aggressive game and hope the course is conducive to my style.  To prepare, I will be playing a couple small events in September followed by the web.com PGA Tour School September 27-30 so I should be in good form when I arrive in Jakarta."
The sixth edition of this prestigious event, which will host a high quality field of 150, boosts a roll of honour that includes former world number one Englishman Lee Westwood, 2015 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner and Indian star Anirban Lahiri, and seven-time tour champion, Bernd Wiesberger from Austria.
The US$750,000 total prize purse event has hosted some of Asia’s brightest talents such as Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Thongchai Jaidee, George Gandranata, Rory Hie, Jordan Irawan, Andik Mauludin and Tirto Tamardi, as well as many of the world’s best, including Westwood, 2010 and 2011 Open Championship winners Louis Oosthuizen and Darren Clarke respectively, four-time Major Champion Ernie Els, and French star Victor Dubuisson.
