Monday Rewind: 5 things we learned in India #TAKESolutionsMasters

Bengaluru, August 7: Here’s five things you need to know from the TAKE Solutions Masters, which was won by the baby-faced assassin, Poom Saksansin of Thailand, on Sunday.

Poom will give all his prize money to his mother. When he was young, his family paid for all his golf expenses. His mother used to write it all down in a book but it got too expensive and she stopped recording the amount.

The BMW 5 series hole-in-one prize that was on offer throughout the week on the first hole went unclaimed. However, there was an albatross in the third round produced by M. Dharma of India after he holed out with a three-wood from 270 yards on the par-five fifth hole. It was the Tour’s 23rd albatross and third of the season.

Poom, Khalin Joshi and Chikkarangappa S., the three players in the final group, are close friends. They had played in the junior and amateur ranks together. Khalin even took Poom out for dinner before the tournament started.

The Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) Golf Course hosted an event on the Asian Tour for the second time since 2012 and huge crowds came to watch the event.

Poom welcomed his second win on the Asian Tour after injuring his back last year. His doctor advised him to lose weight as that can help him avoid getting injured. He had lost about 10 kilograms since.
