August 1: Noh Seung-yul of Korea and Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand put up strong opening acts at the WGC- Bridgestone Invitational on Thursday.
Noh, the youngest Asian Tour number one, opened with two birdies but dropped a shot on the third hole before ending his round with 15 consecutive pars for a one-under-par 69.
The Korean, who won his first PGA Tour title in April, was tied for 14th place, five shots from the first round leader Marc Leishman of Australia.
Thongchai, a three-time Order of Merit winner, was on track to keep his score in the red before stumbling to a bogey on the 18th hole for a 70 to lie in tied 28th position.
