April 26: 2010 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner Noh Seung-yul of Korea shot a bogey-free four-under-par 68 to stay four shots back of leader American Ben Martin after the second round of the US$6,800,000 Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Friday.
Noh, who opened his campaign with a 65, fired four birdies for a two-day total of 11-under-par 133 to share third place with American Robert Streb at the TPC Louisiana.
“My season has not been too bad. My putting is getting better and better. I’m very happy with how I played so far this week. I just changed a new putter and I’m still trying to adjust to it. I guess it does feel better than before,” said the 22-year-old.
Compatriots Bae Sang-moon and Y.E. Yang made it through to the weekend rounds after signing for rounds of 72 and 70 respectively. Asian Tour honorary member Ernie Els of South Africa unfortunately missed the cut by one shot.
Noh etched his place in the Asian Tour history books by becoming the youngest winner of the Order of Merit at the age of 19 years and 204 days.
