The 25-year-old, who opened his campaign with a 65, fired six birdies against two bogeys to put himself in prime position to qualify for the all-important Final Stage next week where the top-40 and ties will earn Asian Tour cards.
Australian Michael Wright carded a 67 to trail the leader by two shots while Canadian Ryan Yip stayed a further shot back after returning with the day’s lowest score of 66 at the Imperial Lakeview Golf Club.
At the Royal Thai Army Sports Center, Craig Hancock of Australia shot a 67 for a two-shot lead over American Julian Suri who compiled a two-day total of eight-under-par 136 after signing for a 66.
Over at the Springfield Royal Country Club, Peter Vejgaard of Denmark took over the lead by one-shot after posting a 71 while Americans Sejun Yoon and Alex Kang took a share of second place after carding 70 and 73 respectively.
