POI Preview What They Said

Unfortunately I got injured but that’s part of life. I’m very happy to return to one of my favourite golf courses. Last year during the same week, I won the Indian Open here, so I have great memories here and I’m looking forward to it.
I’m feeling better but I’m not expecting anything this week. I just want to play my own game. I’m still concerned about my back. I’m still under treatment.
I went to Switzerland and I think that was a big mistake because it was very cold and I got hurt again. It seemed to become worst there and I had to pull out from the tournament which was disappointing. I went home to Bangladesh and I was admitted into hospital. I was there for 15 days.
Now I’m doing a lot of physiotherapy. My fourth and fifth lumbar disc compressed against a nerve. The pain started from the hip towards my right leg. I couldn’t walk at one point. That’s why I’m really happy to be back.
I wasn’t disappointed with the injury because a lot of player struggled because of injuries. This is all part of life. Unfortunately it happened to me. Obviously I hope it doesn’t happen to any players.
Now I’m doing yoga and I’m feeling better. My yoga teacher gave some particular yoga posture and I’ve been doing that. I’m feeling better day by day because of yoga. I have to really strengthen my back or I might get injured.

It is always good to come back to the place where you won your first title. I’ve never won before so this is a whole new set of feelings for me. It is a good golf course and my game is feeling good so it is nice to have a legitimate crack at it.
Yeah, it is special seeing my posters around the course but at the same time, you have to concentrate on what I need to do this week. I’m using the same local caddy so it’s about getting into business and trying to be in the hunt.
The season has been good. It has been very consistent. The first part of the season was better than the second half but I made a lot of cuts. I got into the mix more in the first half rather than the second half. I was in the hunt in Hong Kong but the putter wasn’t behaving.
Yeah I hit driver three times around here. That’s how I play at Delhi. I’m a relatively straight hitter but I don’t want to jinx myself. I’ve played good in Asia two years before this year so I’ve just tried to take that confidence into Europe. I’ve always been annoyed when I didn’t play well in Europe.
I got to get better and play as good of golf as I can. Even though the results are good I still want to get better.

The best I ever played here was when I was 15! I want to get that feeling back. I want to go for it and not to be too scared. I’m using a local caddie this week and this is the first time which I’ll be doing so. It will be nice to get some local knowledge.
Every hole here is narrow. The 16th hole is the toughest for me but I think I figured how to play that hole. I think it will be better this year. You have to be careful here.
The golf course doesn’t scare me. When I first came here I didn’t know much about the course. I just knew I had to get the ball on the fairways. This year I will try to do that.
My game is good. I made a swing change two weeks back and I think I’m on the right track. I’m working on my iron game. I try to stable my lower

half to hit the ball higher with low spin.
If it gets windy, it will be really tough. But it doesn’t seem too windy this week so the course should suit my game. I’m quite a straight hitter as well.

I have good memories here and I always think about the winning memory to play well here. My confidence is good at the moment and I will try my best here. Now, everyone knows about Delhi Golf Club and they are more comfortable playing here. So I don’t think the Indians have an advantage anymore. I’ll try my best to play as good as I can.

It is always fun to come back here. A lot of players find this golf course tight but I’ve been playing here since I was 13 or 14 years old. Maybe earlier than that! This course is not daunting for me anymore. It is like a chess game.
The driver is always in my bag. I hit about six or seven drivers on this golf course. Guys like Rashid Khan, Chiragh Kumar – they find it really easy on this course. For someone coming here for a first or second time, the course is really tough because you don’t get a golf course like this anywhere in the world.
It has been a very long time since I won on the Asian Tour. I’ve had a few wins on the PGTI but I’m still waiting for my second Asian Tour win. I’ve thought about it, then I try not to think about it! It is all in the head.
I’ve had a few close encounters. It has got to do with the game not being up to the mark. I’m always thinking positive so it comes down to the game or the course might not suit you. However this course suits my game so it will be a good week.
I’ve played well in a few events this year even though I’ve been moving backwards on the Order of Merit. But that’s what happens with the top-10 or 15 guys on the Order of Merit. Unless you play really well, you will move back.
It has been a little bit frustrating. I’ve been chasing it for a very long time. In fact, it got to a point when I needed to change Tours. I came back a stronger player. I feel a lot more confident now.

I struggled in the last few weeks so I’m looking forward to playing on a golf course which I’m familiar with. I want to stay calm, have a bit of ‘zen’ and relax. I want to keep in the presence and keep as cool as a cucumber this week.
I’ve been losing patience and getting frustrated with things because you put in a lot of effort and things just don’t work out. I’ve got a few things in mind but I won’t give my secrets away just in case they are good!
This is a strategy golf course. Everyone is going to have one or two loose shots this week. So you got to accept it. You must be conservative off the tees then you can have a crack it when you are in position
My Order of Merit position has been on my mind for quite a while now. It is not a position that I want to be in but we still have a long way to go. I want to start playing some solid golf.
I know there is a score out there if you put your ball in play. Hopefully it will be nice to hole some putts because that’s what gets you into contention. I’ll worry about that if I’m in position on Sunday. At this stage I want to get things rolling.

The golf course is nice and it is beautiful. The greens are fast so overall it will be a good week. I’m hitting it a lot of better. On this course, you got to execute the right shots at the right time. It will be a daunting task this week.
I have to keep the driver in the bag! I’m not the longest hitter on Tour so I have to hit a driver here. I hit about seven drivers the last time I was here so I’m going to keep to the same plan.
I’ve been working on some kinks in my game before Macau because I wasn’t hitting it so well. I took a lesson with my coach on weight transfers and set-ups. My swing feels a lot better now.
It is not a change. More like a fix or a tune-up. I wasn’t hitting it as well before going to Macau. I want to take it one step at a time. Your goal is always to make the cut first. I’m going to go with that goal in mind. You don’t know how you feel on certain days. I’m positive about my game and plan.
