Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, October 12: Local hope Kim Tae-hoon took advantage of the relatively calm conditions to shoot a second round three-under-par 69 and take a two-shot lead at the CJ Invitational Hosted by KJ Choi on Saturday.
The powerful Korean returned this morning to finish round two with two birdies and one bogey for a nine-under-par 135 total at the immaculate Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club on the outskirts of Seoul.
He leads over second placed Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand, Kang Sung-hoon of Korea and Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg at the Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club on the outskirts of Seoul.
Kim, who won his first title on the local circuit in August, knows he must not get ahead of himself as he prepares to head out shortly for the third round at the US$750,000 Asian Tour event.
“I’m happy with my performance in the last two days but I have two more days to go. It won’t be easy but I’ll try my best. It was easier to play today compared to yesterday but somehow, I didn’t hit it as well as I wanted to,” said the 28-year-old Kim.
