Koh Samui, Thailand, June 20: Read what players have to say following the penultimate round of the US$300,000 Queen's Cup on Saturday.
Akinori Tani (Jpn) – Third round 64 (-7), Total 202 (-11)
I shot seven birdies today which was great but I left a few shots out there. I could’ve been better but I won’t complain. I want to try for another bogey-free round tomorrow and not think about winning. As long as I stay bogey-free, I am happy.
I stuck to my game plan out there. I came back to finish my second round in the morning but the course was still wet and I closed with a bogey on the ninth. Although it wasn’t a good finish, I told myself to stay positive and I did that when I head into the third round.
It’s not going to be easy tomorrow with so many good players like Prayad chasing me. I just hope I can continue to keep the bogeys away tomorrow

Prayad Marksaeng (Tha) – Third round 71 (even par), Total 205 (-8)
Actually, I would prefer to be the chaser rather than the leader. Today just didn’t go as I planned. I got up too early to prepare and didn’t expected to start the round so late due to the delay of second round resumption in the morning
I am still happy to shoot a 71 today. I didn’t putt as well as I did yesterday but overall, it was still good. I am still in a good position and I am confident that I can close up the gap and pip Tani to the title tomorrow,
Siddikur Rahman (Ban) – Third round 67 (-4), Total 206 (-7)
It was a great round. I hit a lot of greens and fairways today. I made six birdies and two bogeys where I three-putted but I am not disappointed with my putting as those were long putts. Overall, it was a great day for me.
I am still enjoying my game so far although I am not feeling my best. I felt a little pain in my wrist and my body is not in a good rhythm to play. But I have no expectations for myself. I don’t want to think so much. I just want to try and hit more fairways and greens in regulation.
My wife has been following me for the last three rounds and she’s been very supportive. I have really no expectations to win tomorrow. If I can give my best, then maybe I will win. I don’t want to play for a win. I just want to play it like any other practice round. Looking forward to another good finish.

I played very good today, to be honest. I putted well but I am not hitting the ball as good. It’s a little bit wet out there due to the rain earlier but it was not as tough compared to the first two rounds. It wasn’t really windy. The course is a little bit soft today. I have been playing good this week. I hope I can continue to play like how I did in the last three rounds tomorrow. I will stick to the same mindset for tomorrow and we will see how it goes. I almost eagled the first hole as I hit my second shot to about one-foot from the pin and that got me off to a good start. I also had a 20-feet putt for birdie on the fifth hole which was one of the notable birdies for me today.
Piya Swangarunporn (Tha) – Third Round 67 (-4), Total 207 (-6)
My iron-play was very good today and I putted really well. I sank a 30-footer putt for birdie on the 10th and I had only 28 putts in total. I am really happy with how I played today. The greens are not so fast and I guess the conditions out there are not too bad compared to the last two rounds.
It’s a difficult course. Your short game has to be sharp to play well here. This is my lowest round on this course so far. Hopefully I can better the score tomorrow and try to get a good finish! I will stick to my game plan and I am looking forward to playing in the final round.

Mithun Perera (Sri) – Third round 68 (-3), Total 207 (-6)
I had a good comeback today. I played bad when I came back to finish the remaining four holes of my second round this morning. It wasn’t a good finish. I was disappointed with my second round. The starting time kept getting delayed due to the rain in the morning. I missed the birdie chances on the last few holes which I should take advantage of as they are not too long.
I managed to recover in the third round after getting off to a good start on the first where I sank a three-footer for birdie. I gained a bit of confidence from there which I needed to. I played good golf. I am happy to be in the mix right now. If I can shoot a low round tomorrow, I will have a chance to contend for my first Asian Tour win. Everything was good for me in the third round. My tee shots, second shots and my putting were all good. I just need more luck out there.
I did very well in the third round so I am very much looking forward to the final round tomorrow. There’s nothing to lose for me. I am always hoping to win on Tour and I had come close on a few occasions. I will stay patient for it and we will see how it goes tomorrow. This is one of the golf course that suits my game a lot so I definitely hope to do well here.
