Bengaluru, India, July 25: A power-packed line-up with no fewer than 30 Asian Tour winners will feature in the US$300,000 TAKE Solutions Masters, which will be staged for the first time on the region’s premier Tour next week.
India’s S.S.P. Chawrasia, placed second on the current Order of Merit, will spearhead the elite field alongside Malaysia’s Gavin Green, Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng and Phachara Khongwatmai, all ranked inside top-five, at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) Golf Course.
Australian Todd Sinnott, Nicholas Fung of Malaysia, Thai duo Rattanon Wannasrichan and Jazz Janewattananond, who have claimed their breakthroughs on the Asian Tour this season, will be aiming for more glory when the event gets underway in Bengaluru from August 3 to 6.
The TAKE Solutions Masters is the second Asian Development Tour (ADT) event, following the Yeangder Heritage held earlier in Chinese Taipei in April, to be upgraded onto the Asian Tour this season.
Green, chasing for a maiden Asian Tour win, is feeling upbeat about his title quest as he relishes a return to India where he had earlier enjoyed a runner-up finish in March which helped sealed his card for 2018.
“I’m looking forward to playing the TAKE Solutions Masters as it’s a new event. The players really appreciate it when the Tour puts on a new tournament. Obviously, I’ve got good memories of India after finishing second there earlier in the season.
“I’ve not played in Bengaluru previously but my good friends Chikkarangappa and Khalin (Joshi) have said that it’s a great spot to visit and I also enjoy Indian food,” said the 23-year-old Green, who was the first amateur to win on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) in 2014.

“After competing on the Asian Tour this year, you notice the courses are set up differently from the ADT events and I’ve found a comfort level being around the guys and competing against them.
“Making the cuts consistently have also added a lot to my game. Finishing top two in India and Taipei have also been good to the confidence and we’ll just keep working hard and hopefully things will start to fall in place,” added Green.
Also in the fray are former Order of Merit champions Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhawa of India, as well as Thai veteran Thaworn Wiratchant, who enjoyed a runner-up finish in his second European Senior Tour event two weeks ago.
Other notable players in the field are Yikeun Chang of Korea, who finished tied-44th in his maiden appearance at The Open last week, Bangladeshi Siddikur Rahman, Indian hotshots Gaganjeet Bhullar, Rashid Khan and Rahil Gangjee.
India’s rising star and Bengaluru native Chikkarangappa S. will be looking to cap his maiden Asian Tour win, albeit on a different course, at the event which he had previously won for two consecutive years on the secondary circuit.
Ends.
