Jazz Janewattananond (Tha) – First Round 64 (-8)
I played well today even though I wasn’t feeling well this morning. I have been nursing a flu since returning from India last week. My iron play was really good today and I played pretty consistent too. I like this course. It suits my game a lot. It’s similar to my home course back in Thailand. My season on the Asian Tour has been great and it’s a lot better than last year. I only missed one cut so far. I’m happy to see the improvements in my game.
Richard Lee (Can) – First Round 65 (-7)
It was pretty good. Jazz (Janewattananond) and I were hitting it really well and making lots of putts out there. We got the good draw in the morning with no wind and it seemed to be pretty easy out there. The golf course is pretty fair and easy. If you hit your ball straight and place it where you want it to, you can make easy putts out there. The first half of the year was not bad. I came in second here in the Philippines and it has just been steady the rest of the year. I’m working towards retaining my Tour card for next year and for this week, I’m trying to get a win.
Charles Hong (Phi) – First Round 66 (-6)
I putted well as the greens were fair today. What you see is what you get. There is no tricky aspect to it.  I’m very happy to shoot a 66 today as this is my only my second tournament on the Asian Tour this year.
Lam Chih Bing (Sin) – First Round 67 (-5)
I’m pretty happy with what I shot today. If you hit the ball well and make some putts, you can really get some good low scores. The last few weeks haven’t been that good  and it has been pretty frustrating. Hopefully it’ll turn around this week.  We’re really blessed to be living in Singapore, without fear of facing natural disasters like last week’s typhoon here in the Philippines. It’s really sad to know what has happened and how fragile life can be. But I know this country will get back to its feet quickly. Through my years of playing on the Asian Tour, I’ve made many close Filipino friends and I know them to be very strong and resilient people.
