Read what players have to say after the second round of the inaugural US$750,000 Resorts World Manila Masters.
Angelo Que (Phi) – Second Round 66 (-6), Total 133 (-11)
I’ve been playing with a lot of confidence since finishing fourth in India last week. I am in top form coming back to play on home soil this week. It’s good to see my wife following me throughout my round. It’s easier to play when I know my family is close by. I’m more relaxed on the course too.
I’ve been playing solid. It doesn’t matter if I started well or not. If I can keep making putts, I think I will continue to play well. I’ve been hoping for a win on the Asian Tour again. It has been five years since I last won. I’ve been playing solid for the last three to four years. A win on home soil this week will be great.
Nicholas Fung (Mas) – Second Round 64 (-8), Total 134 (-10)
I had a good start. It was not as windy as yesterday when I played in the afternoon so I guess that was an advantage for me. Both my driving and putting were solid today. I am very pleased with how I played today. I just hope to maintain my form and continue to play well tomorrow. I have played a couple of Asian Tour events this year and I have been enjoying it so far. I gained experience and I learn a lot from playing with the Asian Tour professionals too.
Adilson Da Silva (Bra) – Second Round 67 (-5), Total 135 (-9)
I’m playing very well at the moment and hitting the ball good. I started really well with three birdies in the first three holes but was left a little disappointed on the fourth after making a bogey there. I missed the green , chipped to about a foot and I missed that. But I managed to hang in there and have been hitting good shots. What really pleases me is that this is my first time playing on this golf course and I’m already doing so well. I’m feeling very comfortable. I’ll be playing in the World Cup next week and it’s a good time to be playing well.
Liang Wen-chong (Chn) – Second Round 69 (-3), Total 136 (-8)
I’m pretty happy with my round today. I will be practising on my putting this afternoon and hopefully I can play better tomorrow. It has been awhile since I last won on the Asian Tour. I will try my best and hopefully I can get lucky in the Philippines this week! I think the city has become more developed since I last came here six to seven years ago. It’s really sad to hear about the typhoon that has happened in the country last week. I sincerely hope that they can get over this crisis soon.
