Singh in the Hunt in South Africa

March 1: Jeev Milkha Singh of India posted five birdies in his closing seven holes for a five-under-par 67 in the opening round of the Tshwane Open on Thursday.


The two-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner was even par after 11 holes with one birdie and one bogey but burst into life on his homeward nine to share third at the Copperleaf Golf & Country Club.


He trails first day leader Darren Fichardt of South Africa by two shots.
In the United States, Noh Seung-yul of Korea is two shots back after shooting a four-under-par 66 to lie two shots back from Camilo Villegas of Colombia at the Honda Classic.
