March 10: Korea's Younghan Song made it safely into the weekend rounds after carding a four-under-par 68 in the second round of the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open on Friday.
Song, a one-time winner on the Asian Tour, marked his card with six birdies and two bogeys for a two-day total of nine-under-par 134 to trail Australian leader Brad Kennedy by seven shots in tied-11th place at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown.
Thailand's Gunn Charoenkul returned with a 65 to also grab a share of 11th place at the NZ$1 million event where 10 playing spots have been extended to the Asian Tour.
Australia's Scott Barr, who started the day tied for fourth, slipped to tied-27th place after carding a 71 while Indonesia's Danny Masrin signed for a 70 for a tied-44th spot.
Asian Tour honorary member Y.E. Yang meanwhile made the early exit after carding rounds of 67 and 74.
