Perth, Australia, February 23: Four headline golfers in Western Australia for the ISPS HANDA Perth International began their tournament week teeing off across Perth’s new $2.6billion landmark development Elizabeth Quay this morning before they hit the course at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
The new entertainment and leisure precinct, connecting the Swan River to the Perth CBD, opened to the public earlier this month and has already made a huge impact with both locals and visitors to the city.Elizabeth Quay visit L-R Rumford, Dubuisson, Olesen, Oosthuizen
Louis Oosthuizen (South Africa), Thorbjorn Olesen (Denmark), Victor Dubuisson (France) and Perth’s Brett Rumford toured Elizabeth Quay by golf buggy, stopping for a photo at the impressive sculpture First Contact with the event trophy, and finished with a cheeky tee off over the Swan River inlet.
The ISPS Handa Perth International will also see the return of the best players from the Asian Tour to Australia for the first time since 2009.
It is the only golf tournament in Australia to be tri-sanctioned by the Asian Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia and European Tour and will feature over 20 tournament winners from the Asian Tour.
Ends.
