Tabuena blog: I'm injury free

August 31: Miguel Tabuena injured his shoulder at the Olympics but now he is fully fit and focused on the Omega European Masters.
By Miguel Tabuena
It is really exciting to be here. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place and I was in awe when I arrived here. The views from the tee boxes are unreal. I’m playing well and I’m happy with my game. I just need to grind it out a bit more.
(On the Olympics) It is a different feeling coming here. I represent my country in every tournament I play in including this week. But it was different in the Olympics because it is a different feeling when you wear your flag on your shirt.
I hurt my right shoulder in the opening round the Olympics. I was supposed to play in a local event after the Olympics but I decided to take it easy. I wanted to be 100% healthy for this week. There’s so much at stake for me. If I do well, I can put some pressure on Marcus Fraser on the Order of Merit.
I was thinking about stopping after the first round because I was in pain but it is hard to do so when you have your flag is on your shirt. I didn’t want to stop playing because of an injury. I finished the tournament with what I had and I took three days off when I got home.
I don’t feel any pain now and I hope I continue to remain injury free. Honestly, I feel fine so I’m glad I can play this week without any worries.
Ends.
