June 10: Are golfers superstitious? We looked through our archives and picked four players who more often than not, are always seen wearing their ‘lucky’ shirt when they win!

Polka dot Chan

Chan Shih-chang of Chinese Taipei holds the highest number of victories on the Asian Development Tour (ADT). Out of five ADT wins, Chan has been pictured with the trophy dressed in a white top designed with blue polka dots on four occasions.
The only time he was photographed with a trophy in hand and without his ‘lucky shirt’ was when he won his first ADT title at the 2013 PGM UMW Sabah Classic.

On two occasions, Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand shone as brightly as his green florescent shirt. He broke through in a stylish way when he won the 2011 SAIL Open in India. The victory signalled the arrival of the Thai on the big stage.
In 2013, he capped an amazing win at the Maybank Malaysian Open which was sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour. In that same year, he also challenged for the CIMB Classic title while wearing his lucky charm but had to settle for tied third.

After than win, Mardan has shown great character to win four other titles, three of which came in his 40s.

Thaworn the Black Knight

Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand has won an unprecedented 18 Asian Tour titles. 10 of those wins came when he wore a black shirt. Black is a common colour but the two-time Asian Tour number is known for his unique swing as his hands moving directly above his head at the top of the backswing. He is a man with few words who lets his impervious golf game do the talking.
