The 25-year-old Malaysian, who carded a final round one-under-par 71 for a four-day total of 11-under-par 277, won by six shots over countryman Kemarol Baharin, who signed for a 68, at the Nila Springs Golf and Country Club.
Fung hopes to leverage on the playing opportunities on his domestic circuit and hone his skills before heading to the Asian Tour’s CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters in April.
“This win in Nilai was a timely confidence booster. Having enjoyed a refreshing Chinese New Year break, I’m bracing myself for a busy month ahead. I will try to play in as many events as I can on the local circuit in the next two months. They are really important as I want to get my Asian Tour season back on track by earning some decent results,” said Fung.
