Troon, Scotland, July 14: Thailand’s Phachara Khongwatmai, the youngest competitor at The Open this week, enjoyed a level par 71 in his debut at Royal Troon on Thursday. This is his blog.

I’m feeling very good as I didn’t think I would shoot even par. Last three holes, I had three footers for par and I managed to one-putt all of them.
I had a good feeling at the start of morning. I wasn’t scared, I was feeling normal at the start of round when they announced my name on the tee box.
My putting was very good, tee shot wasn’t so good. I missed a lot of fairways but I always ended in good lies. Lucky.
I hit it on in two at the fourth hole for birdie and hit it close on 16 for another birdie. On 10, hit it left and couldn’t find the ball for double bogey.
I’ll go to sleep, get more power. I think I’ll go to the range, but won’t go to the practice green as my putting was good today.
Today was really good condition to score, just a little bit of wind out there. I don’t know what it will be like tomorrow as I will be teeing off around 4pm. I will just aim to make the halfway cut, which is good for me and I will try to have some fun.
