Thongchai and Lahiri ranked in world's top-50

Sentosa, Singapore, July 29: Decorated Thai star Thongchai Jaidee and current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Anirban Lahiri are currently occupying positions in the world’s top-50 while 14 other Asian Tour members are in the top-200 of the latest Official World Golf Ranking released on Monday.
Thongchai, a three-time Asian Tour number one, maintained his 38th position in the world after finishing joint 50th in the Omega European Masters while Lahiri, who has won twice this season, jumped up 11 places to 50th position following his fifth place outing in Switzerland.
Their world rankings have also ensured that Thongchai and Lahiri kept themselves in the frame to qualify for the International Team to face the United States at the Presidents Cup in Korea in October.

Thongchai is ranked seventh on the team’s ranking while Lahiri is ninth, with the top-10 players as of September 7 earning automatic places in the International team captained by Nick Price.
Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat, who has won in China this year, is ranked 92nd in the world followed by young Australian Cameron Smith, who is six rungs below.
The other Asian Tour members who are in the top-200 include Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand (109th), Ernie Els of South Africa (116th), Prom Meesawat of Thailand (134th), Australian Marcus Fraser (140th), Scott Hend of Australia (142nd), Australian Andrew Dodt (160th), Korea’s K.J. Choi )172nd), American David Lipsky (178th), S.S.P. Chawrasia of India (185th), Jeunghung Wang of Korea (190th), China’s Liang Wen-chong (194th) and Australian Wade Orsmby (196th).
