November 16: Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand missed out on the chance to join the play-off at the BMW Masters in China when his birdie putt on 18 stopped inches from the hole on Sunday.
The three-time Asian Tour number one settled for tied third place following a one-under-par 71 at the Lake Malaren Golf Club. His total of 16-under-par 272 was just one shy from joining the play-off with Patrick Reed and eventual winner Kristoffer Broberg.
“I played good all day. The last putt was just a bit short for the play-off but I don't mind because it was a pretty good week for me. I didn’t win but a top-five is a very good result because a lot of guys played well,” said Thongchai.
Scott Hend of Australia ended his campaign in tied 17th place following a 69 and a 277 total while Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand finished five shots back.
