December 9: EurAsia Cup team Asia captain Thongchai Jaidee enjoyed a ninth place finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club on Sunday.
The Thai star, the only man to win three Asian Tour Order of Merit crowns, closed with a level par 72 to finish nine shots behind champion Thomas Bjorn of Denmark, who stormed to the title with a superb closing round of 65.
Reigning Asian Tour number one Thaworn Wiratchant shot a 76 finish tied 25th in the elite 30-man field.
Thongchai was named last week as captain of the Asian Team to face Europe in the inaugural EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM in Malaysia next March. He started the final round in fourth place but failed to make his move in his debut at the famous South African event.
December 8: Three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand continued to stay firmly in the hunt when he fired a flawless six-under-par 66 to take a share of fourth place after the third round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge on Saturday.
The decorated Thai, who was recently announced as the playing captain for the inaugural EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM in Malaysia next year, gave a sneak preview of what is to come from Team Asia, when he compiled a three-day total of 11-under-par 205 to trail Wales' leader Jamie Donaldson by five shots heading into the final 18 holes.
Reigning Order of Merit champion Thaworn Wiratchant meanwhile posted his best score for the week with a 70 to move up to a share of 21st place in Sun City.
