July 5: Asian Tour star Thongchai Jaidee shot a solid two-under-par 69 to move into contention at the halfway stage of the French Open on Friday.
The Thai legend, who won the Nordea Masters in Sweden last month, sank four birdies against two bogeys at the Le Golf National for a two-day total of three-under-par 139 for a share of fourth place, some seven shots behind leader Kevin Stadler of the United States.
India's Shiv Kapur shot a 69 to move up to tied 24th position while reigning Asian Tour number one Kiradech Aphibarnrat fired a stunning 66, which was the day's joint lowest round, to jump into joint 35th position. It was a massive 11 shot improvement for the big Thai who had opened his campaign with a 77.
