"Thongchai, Lahiri spearhead strong presence in OWGR"

Sentosa, June 30: A total of 19 Asian Tour members currently occupy positions in the top-200 of the latest Official World Golf Ranking released on Monday.
Thai star Thongchai Jaidee, the only man to win three Order of Merit crowns in the region, is the highest ranked Asian Tour member in the world at 34th position, 13 spots above current Asian Tour Merit leader Anirban Lahiri of India, who has won twice this season.

Both Thongchai and Lahiri are also in the running to qualify for the International Team for the Presidents Cup to face the United States in October.
Big-hitting Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat has moved up to 81st position following his tied fourth finish in Germany on Sunday while Australian Cameron Smith, who enjoyed an impressive top-five outing at the U.S. Open two weeks ago, sits in 89th place.
The other Asian Tour members in the top-200 include Ernie Els of South Africa (107th), Thailand’s Prom Meesawat (125th), Scott Hend of Australia (128th), Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand (134th), Australian Andrew Dodt (146th), K.J. Choi of Korea (151st), Australia’s Marcus Fraser (167th), Jeunghun Wang (171st), Australian Wade Ormsby (178th), Jaco Ahlers of South Africa (181st), Liang Wen-chong of China (182nd), David Lipsky of the United States (184th), S.S.P. Chawrasia of India (185th), Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat (195th) and Filipino Angelo Que (200th).
