"Thongchai paired with Jimenez, Poulter in U.S. Open"

June 7: Asian Tour legend Thongchai Jaidee has been paired with EurAsia Cup rival captain Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain and England's Ian Poulter in the opening two rounds of the U.S. Open next week.
Thongchai and Jimenez led Asia and Europe respectively to a memorable tie in the inaugural EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM in Malaysia in March and they will have the opportunity to go head-to-head again at Pinehurst starting next Thursday. They will tee off at 7.51am in the opening round and 1.36pm on Friday.
China's first Asian Tour number one Liang Wen-chong and India's Shiv Kapur were drawn in the same group with Germany's Max Kieffer where they will head out at 8.35am in the opening round and 2.20pm on day two while Asian Tour honorary member Y.E. Yang, Asia's first Major champion, has the company of fellow Major champions Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard.
Another Asian Tour honorary member and International Ambassador Ernie Els will be paired with Darren Clarke and Louis Oosthuizen while Korea's Noh Seung-yul, the youngest Asian Tour Order of Merit champion, will also tee up in the U.S. Open.
EurAsia Cup star Kim Hyung-sung, who qualified for the U.S. Open through sectional qualifying, and England's Simon Griffiths are also in the elite 156-man field next week in what is the year's second Major.
