Pariya Junhasavasdikul (Tha) – Second Round 68 (-3), Total 134 (-8)
It is good to be in this position again. Luck was on my side. I hit it quite well with my iron shots and put a lot of balls in position. You have to be patient on this golf course. Birdies will come because there are a lot of short par-fives and par-fours but you need to stay patient.
I’m playing with Baek and we played a practice round here together. He is practically my brother but tomorrow he is my competition! I’m not looking forward to doing anything more than what I’ve been doing these last two days.
I’m going to go out there and enjoy playing with Baek and hopefully I can put some intimidation on him. It will be quite easy and relaxed since I’m playing with him. It will be like a practice round but we will be taking care of our own business. At the end of each shots we will be friends again.
Eagle on six: Five-iron to 220 yards on the green. Sank a 12-feet putt.
Eagle on 13: Four-iron to 220 yards on the green. Sank an eight-feet putt.
Baek Seuk-hyun (Kor) – Second Round 68 (-3), Total 135 (-7)
I’ve been playing smarter and safe. You have to be clever and patient here. That’s why I’ve been playing well here. Every tournament I try to win a title but I couldn’t win. Now, I don’t think about it and play my game.
The chance to win will come to me and I’ll take it. Pariya is my roommate before. It will be very comfortable to play with him. I need to be in the game and not let my mind wander. I’ve played well in a few Asian Tour events. I missed only two cuts this year and that’s given me some confidence.
I didn’t have any confidence coming into this week but it came back during the practice rounds. I didn’t start well but my putting was really good. I struggled on 16 and 17 but it is still a good score.
No way! I didn’t expect to shoot this score. I wanted to make the cut because my game was bad after last week. I’m really happy that my game came back. Pariya, Chawalit and I always practice together. Pariya taught me a lot because he is good in game plans.
It will be a lot of talking tomorrow but I need to stay in the game. You need luck to play well here.
Eagle on 5th hole: Holed out from greenside bunker (20 yards).

There is only so much you can blame the course. It was the same course when I was playing my front nine (back nine) and I was playing awesome (he shot 29).
Made a few stupid mistakes, especially the par five fifth hole. That’s the easiest hole on the course and to make seven there is like losing two and a half shots on the field. I hit that left, chipped it out into a bad spot and didn’t really recover very well.
Apart from that one hole, I played solid. Had a couple of bad bounces to drop a couple of shots coming in. I hit it better yesterday but hit it closer on my front nine today. Thankfully, a few putts went in. It was feeling solid and I felt I could go really low as I was six under through eight.
I just didn’t take advantage of the par fives on the front nine, played those in one over. But I’m happy I’m still there. These guys, Pariya (Junhasavasdikul) and Baek (Seuk-hyun), have played brilliantly to be on eight and seven under. It’s evidence to how well they’re playing. The course has dried out a lot. Playing in the afternoon was really tough. The last nine holes, the greens were bumpy and fast and it’s not easy. You have to hit it in good spots and make good shots.
Anthony Kang (Usa) – Second Round 68 (-3), Total 141 (-1)
Yesterday after nine holes I thought I would miss the cut again because I was three over after nine holes. After that I made a lot of par putts and a couple of birdies here and there. I did my best not to make any big scores because that can happen on a lot of holes here.
I’ve been trying to avoid the big numbers. I feel like some of the guys like to take a gamble and hit the ball on the green when they get in trouble. But for me, I just chip it out and take my bogeys.
My season has been a progress. I think I’m hitting better shots than my irons previously. My driver has gotten better. I don’t think too much about it. Obviously golf is more fun when you are doing well! It is a lot more fun for me this year compared to last year. Last year was zero fun, in fact it was negative fun.
I never had good memories on this course. But this time, I managed my game a little bit better. It also helps when you can control the golf ball a little bit better, which means you are going to hit better shots. That leads to better results.
Shaaban Hussin (Mas) – Second Round 69 (-2), Total 142 (even par)
This is my home course so I’m happy with how I played. My putting worked for me and my short irons were fantastic. Two-under is a very good score.
I kept to my game plan and didn’t change anything to my game. You need to be patient on this course because the winning score won’t be that low. If I can putt well, then my score will be good.
I’ll need a good round tomorrow. If I can do that then I think I’ll be in the mix. I’m going to practice more on my putting.
I felt that I had a lot of bad breaks out there. The course is very difficult and you get a lot of bounces on the fairways. Even when you hit a good shot, it doesn’t mean that you will be safely on the green. You can’t take anything for granted here.
Abel Tam (A-Mas) – Second Round 68 (-3), Total 142 (even par)
I’ve been playing at Seri Selangor since I was a kid. I guess I had a bit of home course advantage. I struck the ball well. The conditions were tough so I’m happy with how I played.
Being able to play in this tournament is already a plus. I’m getting used to the occasion now because I get to play in a couple of professional events.
I got two more days to go so hopefully I get can win another car here! (Shot a hole-in-one to win a car last year). This tournament has always been good to me. This is my fourth Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters and I’ve improved through the years as you can see from my results.
It was a pretty simple day and I hit it decent. I did what I needed to do and had some good putts for a decent score. Nice to see Gavin doing well as well. Hopefully I can keep up with him.
Abhinav Lohan (Ind) – Second round 71 (even par), Total 142 (even par)
I started off pretty steady. Then I three putted on the ninth hole and bogeyed the 10th hole. I got on to a good run after that with four consecutive birdies. I finished with two bogeys and it was not something I wanted. The 18th hole was a tough hole but I could have saved a shot on 17.
The greens and fairways are tough. This is not an easy course. I will do the same in the last two days. I’m playing okay so far. This golf course suits my eye because I’m pretty straight and my balls are usually in play. That’s what you need on this course.
