ANTONIO LASCUNA (PHI) – SECOND ROUND 69 (-3), TOTAL 137 (-7)
My putting was really good but my tee shots were not as good. I made 24 putts and I managed to save a lot for pars. It’s not easy to putt here so I’m very pleased with my performance so far. I’m very excited about the weekend rounds now that I’m in the lead. I just want to focus on every hole I play. I don’t want to pressure myself by thinking if I’m in the lead or not. I will just play hole by hole and stay focused on my game. Before coming here, I won three consecutive events back home, including one on the Asian Development Tour. I am definitely hoping to get my first win on the Asian Tour this week! That would be great! I will try my best to make it happen.

LIEN LU-SEN (TPE) - SECOND ROUND 71 (-1), TOTAL 138 (-6)
I didn’t hit the ball as well today but I’m still happy with my current standings. I think keeping to the right mindset would be key for me to play well in the next two rounds. It’s not so much about the techniques for me. I have to stay patient out there and just try to enjoy the game. It’s been awhile since I last got into contention in an Asian Tour event. It’s going to be an exciting final two rounds. I will try my best and play well. Would be great if I can secure my first professional win this week!
ANIRBAN LAHIRI (IND) – SECOND ROUND 66 (-6), TOTAL 139 (-5)
I’m really happy with my round today. I have been waiting for this to happen. I’ve been hitting the ball so good even in Switzerland last week but I haven’t really made a lot of birdies to score. It was the same story yesterday and my front nine today. I kept hitting it close but didn’t make any birdies. I guess I got lucky on my front nine a couple of times as I didn’t drop a single shot.
My game came back in good shape on the back nine. I managed to make quite a few birdies. I hit the ball really good. Four out of six birdies I made were from inside three-feet. It’s not easy to make putts out there. I’m really happy with how I played. It’s nice to get back into contention again. I’m really excited about the weekend now. I just need to keep doing what I’ve been doing.
I’ve to play really well all the way to the end of the year to put myself closer to David Lipsky on the Order of Merit. I need to push myself harder, be it to boost my rankings on the Order of Merit or on the world rankings. I dropped quite a bit since where I was four months back when I won the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. I’ve got quite a lot to catch up on.
ANGELO QUE (PHI) – SECOND ROUND 71 (-1), TOTAL 139 (-5)
It was a good round. I didn’t hit as many greens as I did yesterday and I missed a few putts for pars towards the end. I wasn’t hitting my irons as good as yesterday too but I’m still happy with how I’ve been playing so far. I thought my putting was better today. Anything can happen on this course. You just got to be patient and try to hole more putts out there. I’m keeping to the same game plan tomorrow and will try to maintain my composure out there.
DANIEL CHOPRA (SWE) – SECOND ROUND 68 (-4), TOTAL 139 (-5)
I putted very well today. I made a few key putts and I gave myself some good chances on the par-fives. I birdied all the par-fives. It’s been good so far. I am getting into it now. I am starting to get used to the golf course. It’s going to be an exciting weekend.
Daniel Chopra of Sweden Daniel Chopra of Sweden
I think my best hole was the first hole (10th) I played today. I had a good tee shot. I pitched it in to really close and tapped the ball in for a birdie. That kind of got my round started for the day. I’m keeping to the same game plan for the weekend. My strategy so far has worked so hopefully my scores will get better. I will be a little conservative off the tee on one or two holes but that’s about it.
THAWORN WIRATCHANT (THA) – SECOND ROUND 69 (-3), TOTAL 139 (-5)
I struggled with my driver but chipping and putting saved my round. My best birdie had to be on hole number seven. I hit my drive onto the next fairway! I hit my second shot over the trees onto the green and birdied from seven feet.
I was shaking during the round and I felt that my heartbeat was beating faster than usual. I rushed to see the doctor after my round but everything is okay. The doctor said I might have been stress.
PROM MEESAWAT (THA) – SECOND ROUND 73 (+1), TOTAL 140 (-4)
I am still hitting the ball good although I didn’t score well. I think I am a little tired today, having only slept three hours last night! I’m still trying to cope with the jet lag still. I came straight to the tournament from Switzerland without playing any practice rounds. Having said that, I am happy to put myself in contention going into the weekend rounds. I will go back and have a good rest this afternoon so hopefully I can come back here with a fresher mind tomorrow.
The season has been pretty good so far. I had a couple of top-20s. I am feeling good about my game right now. I am still hoping to get my second win! Hopefully I can do it in the remainder of the season. I will be looking to better my results from the first half of the season. I’ve finished in top-10 on the Asian Tour Order of Merit for the last two years. I will be aiming to better my previous ranking this year. Another target that I’ve set for myself is to claim my second title.
RASHID KHAN (IND) – SECOND ROUND 70 (-2), TOTAL 141 (-3)
I didn’t hit the ball well today actually. I only hit seven greens in regulation but my putting was really good today. Yesterday was my first time playing at this course because I didn’t get to play any practice rounds. I’m happy with how I’ve played so far. Hopefully I can get better scores over the weekend. My driving was good yesterday but I didn’t putt well. Today was a total opposite. I putted well but my driving was bad instead. I think you can score if you putt well out there. I hope both my driving and putting will work out well in the next two rounds.
Danny Chia of Malaysia Danny Chia of Malaysia
It has been an amazing year for me since winning the first event of the season. I’ve gotten in to events which I have never expected myself to get into, like the Omega European Masters last week. It’s good because I can gain experience playing in co-sanctioned events. I’m enjoying every bit of the season now and will try to play my best in every tournament.
DANNY CHIA (MAS) – SECOND ROUND 74 (+2), TOTAL 142 (-2)
I didn’t start off well. I missed a lot of short putts and I wasn’t able to read the greens properly. I’m still hitting the ball good. It’s just my putting that didn’t work out well. I gave myself a lot of birdie opportunities but I didn’t manage to capitalize on it. I will try and do my best over the weekend and we will see how it goes. After the shoulder surgery, my mindset towards the game has kind of changed. I don’t want to push myself too much right now. I will just try my best and not give myself any pressure. I will just have to play my best and let the results take care of itself.
