Lin Wen-tang (Tpe) – First Round 67 (-5)
My boss (Emmet Hsu, Yeangder Group Chairman) followed me on the course today so it was scary! I had a good rest last night so I felt good today. Overall my game was good so I had no bogeys.
I haven’t played much on the Asian Tour because I used to get tired very easily when I travelled too often. Now I’ve been going to the gym for half a year and it has helped a lot. I’m 42 this year so I can’t keep playing and travelling.
I hit it very close and that helped my round. My caddy was also helpful as she gave me all the correct lines on the greens!
Hung Chun-kang (Tpe) – First Round 67 (-5)
I did my best out there today. I didn’t think about the result. My coach told me not to think too much. Just go out there and do my best. I didn’t force any birdies. I just took my chances when I could. I played very well on the front nine and I was not disappointed when I three putted for bogey on the 14th hole. I was a bit sad that I miss a four feet eagle putt on the first hole though.

It is a good score to start the week. I holed more putts and kept my tee shot on the fairways. I got unlucky on the 16th hole because my ball was behind a branch but I birdied the next hole.
I felt comfortable out there. I felt good about the swing and putting. I hope the feeling stays throughout the week. I really hope something good will happen this week.
I had a good few days in Japan (two weeks ago) and suddenly it felt like someone took my good game away. Last week I was playing fine. I struggled to make the cut and then my game was gone again.
I started the week good and I have to keep doing what I’ve been doing. I played without much wind but it is the same for everyone. I will hit the wind tomorrow anyway. I have no problem playing in the wind.
Miguel Tabuena (Phi) – First Round 68 (-4)
I’m really happy with my round. I know that I’ve been playing well so I told myself to stay patient. You can’t force the birdies here. There are no sure birdie holes here and take advantage of the par fives.
I was happy with my draw because I was one of the first to tee off in the calm morning conditions. Last year was a bit of a heart break for me but you have to go through those sort of things. I’m definitely a better golfer now.
I gained a few yards this year and I’m learning how to take advantage of that. It has been a combination of fitness and using the right equipment.

I’ve been spending a lot of time with my coach (Joel Altea) and I won four local events including the Order of Merit. That gave me a lot of confidence heading into the Asian Tour.
Gaganjeet Bhullar (Ind) – First Round 69 (-3)
I’m happy with the way I’m playing. I missed a lot of short putts but it is still early because it is only the first day. I had a good finish to the round with two birdies. I’ve been striking the ball really in the past three weeks so I hope I continue.
There was no wind in the morning and I don’t think it will pick up. Golf is a funny game. Not everybody gets the same condition. The weather has been quite good this week.
I worked hard during the off season but I won’t say that it has paid off because it is only Thursday. Another consistent round until Sunday then I will be able to say yes, it is starting to pay off.
