March 4: Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti shot a two-under-par 69 to stay on the fringe of contention at the halfway stage of the WGC-Mexico Championship on Friday.
The current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader shot four birdies against two bogeys where his two day total of five-under-par 137 left him in tied eighth position, four shots behind leader Rory McIlroy, who carded a fine 65.
Australia's Marcus Fraser, who qualified for the event after finishing runner-up on the Asian Tour Order of Merit last season, carded a level par 71 for tied 32nd position going into the weekend rounds.
Former Asian Tour number one David Lipsky was equal 56 on 146 while reigning Order of Merit winner Scott Hend shot a 71 for joint 60th on 147.
