Biography

Arjun started playing the game at the age of 14 and came to love it quickly.He spent three years studying High School in the US and had planned to take the American college route to the pro ranks but quit school to turn professional. Father, Bindi has been a big influence in his career. He grew up at Royal Calcutta Golf Club where he won the Indian Open. In 2000, he married sweetheart Sona Bhalla and they celebrated the arrival of Krishen in 2004, and Shiva in 2007.

Career Highlights

  1. Arjun was the captain for Team Asia at the 2018 EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM. He led a young dynamic team of 12 players from across Asia in their battle against Team Europe.
  2. Arjun made history by becoming the first Indian golfer to win on the US PGA Tour at the 2010 Wyndham Championship
  3. He was also the first Monday qualifier to win a tournament in 24 years in the United States
  4. His victory secured him an invitation to the 2011 Masters Tournament, making him only the second Indian after Jeev Milkha Singh to play in the year’s first Major at Augusta National
  5. After a four-year lapse, Arjun returned to the winner’s circle with a victory at the 2014 Dubai Open, saying winning felt even better that his US triumph due to the uncertainty in his career following injuries
  6. It was his first win in Asia since his play-off triumph at the Maybank Malaysian Open in 2008
  7. He won the Order of Merit in 2003 following two victories that season.
