His grandfather, Alfredo Schuler, built a number of golf courses in Chile after emigrating from Germany and encouraged the young Felipe to take up the game at the age of nine. Golf has been his life ever since and all his family still live on a golf course. He was educated at the University of North Florida where he studied International Business.

Career Highlights

  1. Felipe has won more than 30 events in Chile but was forced to change his swing in 2004 when he broke a bone in his back, which took five months to heal
  2. Had an unsuccessful rookie season on The European Tour in 2006 when he failed to keep his card, but bounced back with a sensational season on the 2007 Challenge Tour, winning twice to finish the year in third place in the Rankings
  3. Proved his rehabilitation was complete with his first Asian Tour victory in 2008 where he held off the challenge of Jeev Milkha Singh to win the Indonesia Open
  4. Followed that up in 2009 with a solid year, his best finish coming at the Johnnie Walker Classic where he finished tied second, but struggled in 2010 and kept his card by the skin of his teeth by finishing 116th in The Race to Dubai
  5. In 2011, he claimed three third place finishes in Europe and carded a sixth placing in the Maybank Malaysian Open
  6. In 2012, Felipe took up his membership with the Asian tour and finished a creditable 14th on the Order of Merit with two top-10s at the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea and Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
