Biography
Learned the game at the age of 13 from his father, Juanito, who is also a professional golfer. Possesses a graceful golf swing and a pleasant disposition where he always carry a smile on his face. Says “only a shadow can imitate my golf swing.”
Career Highlights
- In 2017, Juvic notched four top-10 finishes, including two joint runner-up results in Singapore and Chinese Taipei.
- Juvic rewrote a slice of history by becoming the first Filipino to win the coveted Order of Merit trophy in 2011.
- While he did not win a tournament, four top-10s, including a runner-up finish at the Singapore Open, saw him rise to the top.
- He had a putt in the play-off against Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano to win in Singapore but missed.
- The sweet-swinging Juvic broke through with a stylish victory at the Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational in 2007.
- He produced a grandstand finish with a birdie, eagle to pip India’s Ghaganjeet Bhullar to the title.
- Juvic also came close to a second title at the season-ending Volvo Masters of Asia, leading on the back nine on Sunday but bogeyed the demanding 18th hole at Thai Country Club to lose by one shot to Prayad Marksaeng.
- After winning numerous amateur titles and clinching two gold medals in the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in Manila, Juvic joined the professional ranks.
- In the same year, Juvic contended at the UBS Hong Kong Open where he challenged Jose Manuel Lara all the way to the title before settling for second place.
- In 2004, Juvic came close to winning the Philippine Open when he was still an amateur.
- He entered the final day as the co-leader but settled for the runner-up place, three shots behind Edward Michaels.
