Career Highlights

  1. Perera finished inside the top-61 of the 2012 Order of Merit list to earn a full Asian Tour card for 2013. Due to his country exemption category, the stocky Sri Lankan played in only eight Asian Tour events but it was enough to secure his place among Asia’s leading lights.
  2. He came agonizingly close to his first victory on the Asian Tour at the 2012 ISPS Handa Singapore Classic. He was in second place, finishing one shot behind eventual winner Scott Hend of Australia.
  3. He posted another runner-up finish at the 2013 Zaykabar Myanmar Open, where he was beaten by Chawalit Plaphol of Thailand by one shot
  4. Perera has three top-10 finishes at his last four Panasonic Open India tournaments. He was fourth in 2016, tied-fourth in 2015 and in 2014, he settled for second place after losing to eventual champion, S.S.P. Chawrasia, in a play-off.
