Perera is the son to Nandasena, a famous name on the old Asian circuit d uring the 1980s and 1990s. Not a long hitter but hits it straight and blessed with a deft short game. One of the lively characters on Tour with his easy-going personality.

Career Highlights

  1. Mithun finished inside the top-61 of the 2012 Order of Merit to earn a full Asian Tour card for 2013
  2. Due to his country exemption category, the stocky Sri Lankan played in only eight Asian Tour events but it was enough to secure his place among Asia’s leading lights
  3. He came agonizingly close to victory at the ISPS Handa Singapore Classic but settled for second place, finishing one shot behind eventual winner Scott Hend of Australia
  4. Subsequently established himself in 2013 with a runner-up finish at the Zaykabar Myanmar Open where he was beaten by Chawalit Plaphol of Thailand by one shot
  5. In 2014, he lost in a play-off to S.S.P
  6. Chawrasia at the Panasonic Open India.
