Career Highlights

  1. Zaw Moe is one of Myanmar's finest golf exports
  2. After playing for his country in the Putra Cup during his amateur days and winning the Burma Amateur Open title twice (1987-88), he turned professional and made a name for himself in Asia
  3. Won the Singapore Open in 1997 and played regularly in Japan in the late 1990s until he lost his privileges in the early 2000s
  4. A niggling wrist injury slowed down Zaw's challenge while a back surgery in 2004 also knocked him out for a year
  5. Was diagnosed with a liver infection in late 2006 but after undergoing treatment, Zaw recovered sufficiently to regain some of his old form
  6. In 2007, he earned his biggest paycheck of US$56,400 after finishing 14th at the Barclays Singapore Open
  7. After a slow start in 2011, Zaw reverted to the belly putter which immediately changed his fortunes as he placed tied fourth at the Macau Open presented by Cityneon
  8. Continued his fine form, making five straight cuts including a tied eighth placing at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship in Chinese Taipei
  9. Ended the season in 40th place on the Order of Merit, his best finish in over 10 years
  10. In 2006, he had four runner-up finishes in Asia, losing twice in play-offs, in the 1999 Lexus International in Thailand, against India’s Jeev Milkha Singh, and in the 1998 Volvo Masters of Malaysia, where Englishman Chris Williams triumphed
  11. Also finished second in the 1995 Yokohama Singapore PGA Championship and 1996 Merlion Masters in Singapore, which he has lived in for many years.
